The Canadian Rockies Gay Rodeo Association (CRGRA) Board of Directors (BOD) have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel Canadian Rockies Rodeo North (CRRN) scheduled for August 9-11, 2024.
The CRGRA BOD has worked hard and have put in countless hours to produce a gay rodeo for its membership and the LGBTQ2S+ community. However we must remain fiscally responsible and with the challenges of rising costs, the lack of potential sponsorship and decreasing community support it is impossible to proceed with CRRN 2024.
If you participated in any capacity with the successful inaugural CRRN rodeo we want to thank you for your support and understanding and ask for your continued support of CRGRA.
While CRGRA will not be holding a rodeo we will remain active in the Calgary LGBTQ2S+ community and represent Canada as a member association of the International Gay Rodeo Association.
We would also like to remind you of the Road to 50 – IGRA's 50-year Reunion in conjunction with WGRF 2025 in Reno, Nevada.
Canadian Rockies Gay Rodeo Association
Board of Directors 2024
CRGRA is a Calgary based not-for-profit society that is 100% volunteer run organization.
The Canadian Rockies Rodeo North (CRRN) is an International Gay Rodeo Association (IGRA) sanctioned event encompassing 20 associations and 4000 members worldwide and is the only LGBTQ rodeo held outside the United States. Our focus is to uphold the IGRA tradition of giving back to the communities we live in by our charitable donations. We are happy to bring gay rodeo to Canada.
We proudly boast the most unique rodeo on the IGRA circuit. We are able to offer all our events at one location and this year are excited to hold our rodeo at the Nutrien Western Event Centre at Stampede Park in downtown Calgary. This makes our event a favourite destination for many of the LGBTQ rodeo contestants and spectators. It is truly an international event with people coming from all corners of the globe to attend.
